Barons Shock The Saints…. March 8, 2009

Needless to say the Oil Barons come from behind victory on Saturday night was one of the games I will remember for the rest of my life.
Trailing 3-0 heading into the 3rd and for the most part being dominated through 40 minutes the Barons mustered up a 3rd period like nobody before them.
After cutting the lead to 3-1 the MOB fell back behind 4-1 and it looked like it was done…but hold on…..first it was Matt Hallick on a Stebner rebound…4-2…..then Brad Stebner on the power-play from the point….4-3…then Dakota Dubetz on a nice feed from Dave Carr and all of a sudden it’s 4-4….then with less than 2 seconds left Michael Perry wins the race to a loose puck…pokes it to Mirwaldt…..who centers it and Kyle Johnson fires it top cheddar on Rolheiser who was beaten 5 times in the 3rd.
Just an amazing finish to a 5 goal third period….truly a comeback for the ages…..weird thing is…the Oil Barons didn’t play near their best game and they still managed a 5-4 win….once they get playing they may have a shot at taking down the top team in the country…it’s just 1 game but it’s a start….a lot of work left to go.
